Benefits of Having a Canine Companion

On International Dog Day it seems fitting to discuss the mental health benefits of having a canine companion. Studies show that having a dog can reduce stress, anxiety and depression, ease loneliness, encourage exercise and improve your overall happiness.

They can even help older adults retain their cognitive function. Petting your dog for ten minutes a day can lower blood pressure, heart rate and relax muscle tension! Plus, they're just so cute!! Here are my two rescue pups who definitely improve our lives each day.
