Allyson (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and her graduate degree in Clinical Counseling from Webster University. After graduating from the University of Florida she knew she wanted to stay in Gainesville and make a life here.

Allyson always knew she wanted to start her own private practice where the counselors could focus on the clients while she supported them in their roles. Oaks Family Counseling is now a thriving practice and Allyson loves that she can help more clients while enabling the counselors to have a good work/life balance.

Most of her clinical experience has been working with adults, children/adolescents and their families. Work experience includes seeing private clients with Oaks Family Counseling, working with local students and their families through a program with Village Counseling Center and Alachua County Schools, working with survivors of domestic abuse at Peaceful Paths, the Crisis Stabilization Unit at UF Health Psychiatric Hospital (Shands Vista) and counseling at local high schools through the PALS program. Additionally, she was the Director of a Preschool for more than a decade. Allyson is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator, Parenting Coordinator, private Guardian ad Litem, Child Custody Evaluator and Social Investigator, a Qualified Supervisor, an Emotional Support Animal Evaluator, and can provide evaluations for educational purposes.

In addition to counseling, Allyson works with families who are involved in high conflict divorces or separations, timesharing (custody) disputes, and other court related concerns for families. She likes that she can give a voice to the children and help families navigate through a difficult and stressful time in their lives. Allyson is well versed in supporting individuals who are facing a court battle and frequently works side by side with their attorneys to prepare them for court appearances.

Allyson has a daughter who goes to UF, a husband, three cats, and three dogs. In her free time she likes to travel in their RV, relax, go to Disney, and spend time with family and friends.
