School Counselor and School Specialist

Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern

Masters Level Clinician

Alexys is a therapist with a deep passion for supporting children, adolescents, and their families through life’s challenges. Drawing from her own neurodivergent experiences, she believes every child and teen deserves a safe, supportive space to express themselves and feel truly heard. Her approach is rooted in empathy, patience, and collaboration—with the young person, their caregivers, and, when helpful, their schools or communities. She believes that the early years of life are some of the most formative, and providing support during this time can have a lasting, transformative impact. Working with children and adolescents is not just her profession—it’s her calling.

Whether a child is dealing with anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, trauma, family conflict, or struggles with self-esteem, her goal is to empower young people in their own healing and growth as they strive toward becoming self-aware individuals.

Alexys integrates evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and play therapy to help children express themselves and build coping skills in age-appropriate ways. With adolescents, she focuses on identity development, peer relationships, emotional regulation, and academic pressures, working to create a space where they can explore who they are and what matters to them. She believes in strengthening the entire support system around a young person, helping families improve communication, rebuild trust, and create consistency at home.

Alexys holds a Master’s and Specialist degree in School Counseling & Guidance from the University of Florida. Outside of her work, she enjoys running even when it’s unreasonably hot and humid, watching a good show, drinking good coffee, and spending time with people that matter most to her.
